Filet Mignon

Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Take the filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steaks

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Calamari

  1. 4

    Prepare the Calamari

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 5

    Dredge the Calamari

Dip the squid rings into the beaten eggs, then dredge them in the flour mixture until well coated.

  3. 6

    Heat Oil for Frying

In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 7

    Fry the Calamari

Fry the coated calamari rings in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 8

    Serve

Serve the fried calamari hot with fresh lemon wedges on the side.
