1. Prepare the Syrup

In a saucepan, combine sugar, citric acid, and natural flavoring with 250 ml of water. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

2. Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled syrup with the remaining 750 ml of carbonated water. Add sodium bicarbonate and stir gently to combine. If using, add food coloring to achieve desired appearance.

3. Stabilization (Optional)

If desired, add the glycerol ester of wood rosin to the mixture to enhance stability and mouthfeel.

4. Bottle and Chill

Pour the mixture into clean bottles, seal tightly, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

5. Serve

Serve chilled and enjoy your homemade Ramune!
