Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

Milk Mixture Preparation

  1. 8

    Mix the Milks

In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Whisk until well blended.

  2. 9

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is cooled, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  3. 10

    Chill the Cake

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the cake to absorb the milk.

Topping Preparation

  1. 11

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

  2. 12

    Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake evenly. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon for added flavor.
