Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Tamarind

In a bowl, add the tamarind pulp and pour 2 cups of warm water over it. Let it soak for about 30 minutes to soften the pulp.

  2. 2

    Extract the Juice

After soaking, use your hands to mash the tamarind pulp in the water. This will help release the juice. Once well mashed, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into another bowl to separate the liquid from the solids.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a pitcher, combine the tamarind juice with the remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, lime juice, and salt. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  4. 4

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the tamarind juice for at least 1 hour to chill. Serve over ice if desired and enjoy your refreshing tamarindo!
