Marinated Steak (Churrasco)

Shrimp Marinade

Garnish

Method

Prepare the Marinated Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine minced garlic, lime juice, olive oil, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended. Place flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag, removing excess air, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

About 30 minutes before grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from grill and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine shrimp, garlic powder, chili powder, chopped cilantro, lime zest, salt, and olive oil. Toss until shrimp are evenly coated. Let marinate for 20-30 minutes.

  2. 5

    Grill the Shrimp

Skewer the marinated shrimp (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior) and grill for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn pink and opaque.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Dish

Slice the rested flank steak against the grain. Serve alongside grilled shrimp with fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish.
