Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix in Liqueur and Sugar

In a bowl, combine the brewed espresso, coffee liqueur, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool completely.

Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk the Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and thick.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone and Vanilla

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

  3. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  3. 9

    Chill and Finish

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
