Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Usually, this takes about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Spaghetti
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use if needed.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- 4
- 5
Add Fresh Basil
Once the sauce has thickened slightly, stir in the fresh basil leaves and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Combine and Serve
- 6
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce in the skillet. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.
- 7
Serve
