Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Guavas
Start by washing the guavas thoroughly under running water. Cut them in half to make it easier to extract the juice.
- 2
Boil the Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 500ml of water to a boil over medium heat.
- 3
Cook the Guavas
Once the water is boiling, add the halved guavas to the pot. Allow the guavas to simmer for about 15 minutes until they become soft.
- 4
Strain the Mixture
After cooking, remove the pot from heat. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a pitcher, discarding the solid guava halves.
- 5
- 6
Season with Salt
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to enhance the flavors. Stir well to combine.
- 7
Chill the Agua de Guayaba
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to chill before serving.
