Method
Pork Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Pork
In a bowl, combine the garlic powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, chili powder, and olive oil. Mix well to form a marinade.
- 2
Coat the Pork
Rub the marinade generously over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator (or overnight for best results).
- 3
Cook the Pork
Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Place the marinated pork in a roasting pan and cook for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded. Let it rest for 10 minutes before shredding.
Salad Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, diced tomato, and diced cucumber.
- 5
Dress the Salad
Add lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to the salad mixture. Toss well to combine and set aside.
Assembly
- 6
Prepare the Pita
Warm the pita bread in a skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
- 7
Assemble the Dish
On the warmed pita bread, layer the shredded pork, followed by the salad mixture and shredded cheese. Serve with a side of French fries.
