Method
Prepare the cheese plate
- 1
Select and arrange cheeses
Place the Hemme Brothers black pepper cheddar, Terrell Farms camembert, and Point Reyes Farmstead bleu cheese on a wooden board or serving platter, arranging them in a visually appealing manner.
- 2
Add accompaniments
Spoon the elderberry jam into a small bowl and place it on the board. Scatter the smoked almonds around the cheeses.
- 3
Prepare the buttermilk crackers
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until a dough forms. Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.
- 4
Serve
Serve the cheese plate with the house-made buttermilk crackers alongside the cheeses and accompaniments.
