Meatballs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Gravy

In the same skillet, add some butter and flour to create a roux. Gradually add beef broth, stirring continuously until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Return the meatballs to the skillet with the gravy and simmer for a few minutes. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or lingonberry sauce.
