Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 3
Cook the Burgers
In the same skillet, add vegetable oil and increase heat to medium-high. Add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the burgers are cooking, slice the burger buns and toast them in the skillet until golden brown.
- 5
Assemble the Burgers
Spread a layer of bourbon sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the burger patty on top, followed by two slices of bacon and a generous portion of onion strings. Top with the other half of the bun.
