Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and minced garlic. Mix well and set aside in the refrigerator to let the flavors meld.

  2. 2

    Cook the Whiskey Braised Onions

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until softened. Pour in whiskey, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer until the onions are caramelized and the liquid has reduced, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of muenster cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the brioche buns lightly. Spread garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun, add the cheese-topped patty, spoon on the whiskey braised onions, and top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
