Preparing the Calamari

Prepare the Calamari
In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and black pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture until fully coated.

Fry the Calamari
Working in batches, fry the calamari for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Making the Cherry-Pepper Vinaigrette

Season
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Whisk or shake to combine until emulsified.
Making the Marinara Sauce

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garnish with Basil
Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assembling the Dish

Plate the Calamari
On a serving platter, arrange the fried calamari.
