Method

Preparation of Scallops

  1. 1

    Clean the Scallops

Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove any muscle or grit attached to the scallops.

  2. 2

    Season the Scallops

Sprinkle the scallops with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside for 10 minutes to allow the seasoning to absorb.

Prepare Sweet Chili Cream

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream and sweet chili sauce. Stir well to incorporate.

  2. 4

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently, for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook Scallops

  1. 5

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 6

    Grill the Scallops

Place the seasoned scallops on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque in the center.

  3. 7

    Glaze with Korean BBQ Sauce

During the last minute of cooking, brush the scallops with Korean BBQ sauce to add flavor and caramelization.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Carefully place the cooked scallops on a serving plate. Drizzle the sweet chili cream over the top.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the scallops for added flavor and presentation.

  3. 10

    Serve Immediately

Serve the Korean BBQ scallops immediately while hot, with extra Korean BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
