Method
Waffle Preparation

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.

Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it.

Cook Waffles
Pour the appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Repeat until all the batter is used.
Marinated Berries

In a small bowl, combine the mixed berries, Grand Marnier, and sugar. Toss gently to coat the berries.

Let the berries sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Whipped Mascarpone

In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth.

Add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
Candied Pecans

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

Cool Pecans
Transfer the candied pecans to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and harden.
Assembly

To serve, stack the warm waffles on a plate. Top with marinated berries, a dollop of whipped mascarpone, candied pecans, and drizzle with warm maple syrup.
