Main Ingredients

Blue Cheese Topping

Method

Preparing the Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Season the Filet Mignon

Take the filet mignon pieces and season them generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steaks

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned filet mignon to the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is reached. Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes.

Making the Blue Cheese Topping

  1. 3

    Melt the Butter

In the same skillet used for the steak, reduce heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 5

Combine with Blue Cheese and Cream

Add the blue cheese and heavy cream to the skillet. Stir until the blue cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.

  4. 6

    Finish with Chives

Stir in the chopped chives and season the mixture with additional salt and pepper if needed. Remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Filet Mignon

Place the rested filet mignon on serving plates and generously spoon the blue cheese topping over each steak. Serve immediately.
