Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into crinkle-cut shapes using a crinkle cutter knife.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried crinkle-cut potatoes to the hot oil in small batches. Fry for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Immediately sprinkle with salt, paprika, and garlic powder to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the crispy crinkle-cut fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
