Directions

1

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

2

Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispier fry.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

4

Fry the Potatoes

Drain and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Season

While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to taste.

6

Serve

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
