Prepare the Rub
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Season the Brisket
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.
Sear the Brisket
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
Cook the Brisket
Transfer the brisket to a slow cooker or a roasting pan. Pour the beef broth around the brisket and cover tightly.
Slow Cook
Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
Rest and Slice
Remove the brisket from the cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes. Slice against the grain into 4 oz., 1/2 lb., or 1 lb. portions as desired.
