Pizza Preparation

1

Prepare the Tomato Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the crushed San Marzano tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened.

2

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) for at least 30 minutes, or until fully heated.

3

Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 14-inch round shape. Transfer it to a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4

Assemble the Pizza

Spread the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then arrange the pepperoni slices on top.

5

Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

6

Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, and let it cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.
