Chips

Chipotle Salsa

Method

Chips

1

Prepare the Tortillas

Start by cutting the corn tortillas into triangles to form chips.

2

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles in batches to the hot oil. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

4

Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt.

Chipotle Salsa

5

Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the ripe tomatoes, onion, and garlic. Roughly chop the fresh cilantro. Remove the chipotle peppers from the can and chop them finely.

6

Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro, chipotle peppers, lime juice, and garlic.

7

Season the Salsa

Add salt to the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well combined. Adjust salt and lime juice to taste.

8

Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld before serving with the chips.
