For the Honey Cajun Chicken Sandwich

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk and cajun seasoning. Add chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Remove chicken from marinade and let excess buttermilk drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere. Shake off excess flour.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add chicken and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix honey, mayonnaise, and smoked pepper sauce until well combined.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread honey cajun sauce on the bottom half of the brioche bun. Add fried chicken, jalapeño slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with a side of your choice and enjoy your Honey Cajun Chicken Sandwich.
