Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Tuna
Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Make the Sesame-Chive Mixture
In a shallow bowl, combine sesame seeds and finely chopped chives. Mix well.
- 3
Coat the Tuna
Press each tuna steak into the sesame-chive mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.
- 4
Sear the Tuna
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Place the tuna steaks in the skillet and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
- 5
Add Soy Sauce
During the last minute of cooking, drizzle soy sauce over the tuna steaks, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
- 6
Serve
Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute before slicing. Serve with your choice of traditional accoutrements.
