Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rib

Let the prime rib roast sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Roast

In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped fresh rosemary. Rub the olive oil all over the roast, then apply the seasoning mixture generously on all sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  4. 4

    Roasting the Rib

Place the seasoned prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to develop a crust.

  5. 5

    Lowering the Temperature

After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (125°F for medium-rare).

  6. 6

    Rest the Meat

Remove the roast from the oven and tent with aluminum foil. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the prime rib and serve with beef broth drizzled over the top for added flavor.
