Bourbon Butter Cake
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- 2
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the bourbon and vanilla extract, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- 3
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 4
Serve
Once the cake has cooled, slice it and serve with crème anglaise and caramel sauce drizzled over the top. Add a scoop of Madagascar bourbon vanilla bean ice cream on the side.
