Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrot, and diced celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are softened.
- 2
Cook the Meat
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. This should take about 7-10 minutes.
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
- 5
Cook the Spaghetti
While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
