Bruschetta Topping
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced fresh tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine all ingredients. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice a baguette or ciabatta loaf into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush each side lightly with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 3
Assemble the Bruschetta
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread. Serve immediately.
