Milk Bread Rolls
Method
Preparation
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C) with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and the egg. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cool and Serve
Remove the rolls from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve warm with butter.
