Prepare the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Cook the Pancakes
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 2 more minutes.
Serve
Serve the pancakes warm with a scoop of strawberry ice cream on top, drizzle with strawberry preserves, and finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
