Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients and preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the applewood bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Season the smash patties with salt and pepper. Place them on the hot grill or skillet. Smash them down slightly with a spatula for a crispy edge. Cook for about 3 minutes on one side.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom bun, add a patty with melted cheese, followed by two slices of crispy bacon, a generous scoop of smoked chili BBQ sauce, and a handful of onion rings. Top with the other bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the smoked stack burger immediately, with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
