Mac & Cheese

Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually add milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the Cheeses

Lower the heat and stir in cheddar, monterey jack, parmesan, and cream cheese until completely melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Herb Crust

In a small bowl, mix together bread crumbs, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.

  6. 6

    Bake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and top with the herb crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your creamy mac & cheese with crispy herb crust!
