Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Protein

Choose your protein: chicken, beef, or tofu. If using chicken or beef, slice into thin strips. If using tofu, press to remove excess moisture and cut into cubes. If using mixed vegetables, chop them into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Make the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili flakes, black pepper, and brown sugar. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Marinate the Protein

Add the chosen protein to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors. For best results, marinate for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator.

  2. 4

    Cook the Protein

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated protein and cook for 5-7 minutes (for chicken or beef) or 3-5 minutes (for tofu) until fully cooked and golden brown.

  3. 5

    Add Vegetables

If using mixed vegetables, add them to the skillet or wok during the last 3-4 minutes of cooking. Stir-fry until they are tender but still crisp.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the cooked protein and vegetables to a serving platter.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Top with chopped cilantro and chopped peanuts. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
