Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Swordfish

Pat the swordfish steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Dredge in Flour

Spread the flour on a plate and dredge each swordfish steak in the flour, shaking off any excess.

  3. 3

    Brown the Butter

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and 3 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter has melted and starts to brown, add the swordfish steaks.

  4. 4

    Cook the Swordfish

Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

  5. 5

    Make the Piccata Sauce

In the same skillet, add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the lemon juice and capers, stirring well.

  6. 6

    Serve

Pour the sauce over the swordfish steaks and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
