Pan Seared Ahi Tuna

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Slaw

In a bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, honey, wasabi paste, and a pinch of salt. Toss well to mix and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make Sweet Soy Reduction

In a small saucepan, simmer the soy sauce over medium heat until it reduces by half and becomes syrupy. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sriracha Aioli

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and sriracha together until smooth. Adjust the sriracha to taste for desired heat.

  4. 4

    Sear the Ahi Tuna

Season the ahi tuna steak on both sides with salt and black pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna steak and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the seared ahi tuna and place it on a plate. Top with the honey wasabi vegetable slaw, drizzle with sweet soy reduction, and serve with sriracha aioli on the side.
