Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Au Jus

In a saucepan, combine beef broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

  2. 2

    Cook the Prime Rib

In a skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Season the prime rib roast with salt and pepper. Sear all sides of the roast until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side). Transfer to a slow cooker.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Prime Rib

Pour the prepared au jus over the prime rib in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette in half and lightly toast on a grill or in a toaster until golden.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Shave the cooked prime rib and layer it on the toasted baguette. Top with white cheddar cheese and haystack onions. Drizzle horseradish sauce on top.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the sandwich with a side of the au jus for dipping and enjoy with fries.
