Fried Pickles Directions
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the breading stick better.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Then coat the pickle slice in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it adheres.
- 6
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickle slices into the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
