For the Pește Prăjit (Pan-Fried Salmon)

For the Mămăligă (Polenta)

Method

Preparing the Pește Prăjit

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Season the salmon fillets with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika on both sides.

  2. 2

    Coat with Corn Flour

Dredge each seasoned salmon fillet in corn flour, ensuring an even coating.

  3. 3

    Pan-Fry the Salmon

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Preparing the Mămăligă

  1. 4

    Boil Water

In a pot, bring the water to a boil. Add salt.

  2. 5

    Add Cornmeal

Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

  3. 6

    Cook the Polenta

Reduce heat to low and continue stirring for about 15-20 minutes until thickened. Stir in butter and mix well. If desired, add grated cheese for extra flavor.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the pan-fried salmon alongside a generous helping of mămăligă. Enjoy!
