Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle Mint and Lime

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and fresh lime juice. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press and twist the mint leaves to release their essential oils. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much.

  2. 2

    Add Simple Syrup

Pour in the simple syrup over the muddled mint and lime mixture. This will add sweetness to balance the tartness of the lime.

  3. 3

    Add Rum

Add the white rum to the glass. Stir gently to combine the mint, lime, syrup, and rum.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top. This will chill the mixture and prepare it for the club soda.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Pour the club soda over the ice until the glass is full, giving it a light stir to mix everything together without disturbing the mint leaves too much.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately with a straw, if desired.
