Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, salt, and yeast. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the water and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until a shaggy dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough to release air, and shape it into your desired form, whether it's a loaf or rolls.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover again with the damp cloth and let it rise for another 30-40 minutes.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake

Once the second rise is complete, bake the dough in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. 9

    Cool Down

Remove the baked bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
