Korean BBQ Balls

Method

Korean BBQ Balls

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Add Binding Agents

Add the panko breadcrumbs and the beaten egg to the meat mixture. Continue to mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly distributed and the mixture holds together when formed into balls.

  3. 3

    Shape the Balls

Using your hands, take a small amount of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon) and roll it into a ball shape. Repeat this process until all the mixture has been formed into balls.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. You should have about 1/4 inch of oil in the pan, enough to fry the balls evenly.

  5. 5

    Fry the Balls

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs to the pan in batches. Fry them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan.

  6. 6

    Drain and Garnish

Once cooked, remove the Korean BBQ balls from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Korean BBQ balls warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
