Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create a spice rub. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork

In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Add Liquid

Once the pork is seared, add the apple cider vinegar and water to the pot. Bring it to a simmer before covering the pot with a lid.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pork

Transfer the covered pot to the preheated oven and cook for about 4-5 hours, or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.

  5. 5

    Shred the Pork

Remove the pot from the oven and let it cool slightly. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the pulled pork as desired. It can be enjoyed on its own, in sandwiches, or with sides of your choice.
