Method

Preparing the Ribeye

  1. 1

    Bring to Room Temperature

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

Cooking the Ribeye

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sear the First Side

Add the ribeye steaks to the pan. Sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving them, to develop a nice crust.

  3. 5

    Sear the Other Side

Flip the steaks and add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer to your preferred doneness.

  4. 6

    Baste the Steaks

Use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted oil and juices from the pan for enhanced flavor.

  5. 7

    Rest the Steaks

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Optional Sides Preparation

  1. 8

    Cook Corn

If serving with corn, bring a pot of water to a boil and add the corn. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

  2. 9

    Prepare Asparagus

For asparagus, toss the asparagus in olive oil, salt, and pepper, and roast in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes.
