Beef Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and gently shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Patties

3

Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side.

5

Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

6

Slice the Tomato and Onion

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin slices.

7

Wash the Lettuce

Rinse the lettuce leaves under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Assemble the Burger

8

Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

9

Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
