Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness. Rinse and pat dry the ribs.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, mustard powder, and cayenne pepper.

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and the remaining spices (garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, mustard powder, cayenne pepper).

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 6

    Wrap the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil, bone side down. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil, sealing the edges tightly.

  2. 7

    Bake the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs in the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  3. 8

    Glaze and Broil

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top layer of foil, and brush generously with the BBQ sauce. Place under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.

Serving

  1. 9

    Slice and Serve

Let the ribs rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
