Fried Pearl Onions

Buttermilk Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Fried Pearl Onions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pearl Onions

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add pearl onions and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and cool slightly, then peel off the skins.

  2. 2

    Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Onions

Dredge each peeled pearl onion in the flour mixture, dip in the egg, and then coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure they are well-coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Onions

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded onions in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Buttermilk Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Dipping Sauce

In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
