Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced Hatch green chiles, salt, and black pepper. Mix well but do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the buns.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Tucumcari green chile cheddar on each patty to melt.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the green chile-cheddar buns on a separate pan or in a toaster.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked patties with melted cheese on the bottom half of the buns. Top with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Cover with the top half of the buns.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
