Mashed Potatoes

Method

Preparing the Brisket

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

Rub the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika evenly on all sides.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Place the seasoned brisket on the smoker grate and smoke for about 1 to 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (91°C).

  3. 3

    Apply BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the brisket generously with BBQ sauce.

  4. 4

    Rest the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Making Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Boil them in salted water for about 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Cooking the Green Beans

  1. 7

    Prepare the Green Beans

Trim the ends of the fresh green beans and rinse them under cold water.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Green Beans

In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add the green beans, salt, and pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
