Preparation of Shakshuka

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and red bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Garlic and Spices
Stir in the minced garlic, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Incorporate Tomatoes
Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (with their juices) and season with salt and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.

Warm the Pita
While the shakshuka is cooking, warm the pita bread in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and pliable.
