Salmon Preparation

Method

Salmon Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on a plate. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the fillets and season generously with salt and black pepper. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top and sprinkle with chopped fresh dill or parsley.

  2. 2

    Heat the Cooking Surface

If pan-searing, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

For pan-searing, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through. For grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill grates and cook for 6-8 minutes, then flip and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve the Salmon

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh herbs and lemon wedges if desired.

Optional Side Dish Cooking

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the salmon is cooking, wash and trim the asparagus or green beans. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the asparagus or green beans to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.

  3. 7

    Serve the Side Dish

Once cooked, serve the sautéed vegetables alongside the salmon for a complete meal.
